Night Vet 7 on 14 off
This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in setting up Islands’ first ever dedicated night time service. Working from the hospital with our dedicated night RVN, you will be responsible for the inpatient care, seeing emergency consultations and carrying out emergency procedures including surgery and medical workups.
Initially the role would only involve clients of the NEVH, so night work is likely to be limited. However, 2 other practices on Islands may join later on – although it is unlikely that you would be too busy during the smaller hours of the night.
The hospital has limited referral, so most work is done on Islands. We have a CT, digital X-rays, video endoscopes, blood analysers, and the usual other toys. Dedicated night RVN and scope in increase help out-of-hours if needed. On-site accommodation can be provided.
Jersey has close links to the continent, and while it is a beautiful island, there is the scope to travel extensively in your weeks off.
We are seeking someone with passion and drive for emergency medicine and surgery. Further qualifications in the subject are beneficial but not essential, and funding towards studies in these are encouraged.
The candidate will need to be able to work sole charge, alongside the RVN. We currently have an average of 5 inpatients and 2 emergency consults per night, but this is an area we are keen to see growth in.
Benefits include
A generous CPD allowance per annum to assist your career growth
Health Shield – wide ranging contributions for health and wellbeing treatments – from dentistry to sports massage
- RCVS Membership paid
- VDS cover paid
- Employee pet discounts
- My Perks – offers, discounts and cashback on shopping, travel, entertainment and much more
Accommodation available if required
