Who we are!

It’s safe to say that our practice has been a family affair from the very start.

Our story began in the 1920s, when brothers Edgar and Albert Messervy first set up shop in David Place.

Albert went on to work as a professor of veterinary medicine for a few years, but later returned to Jersey and played a huge role in promoting the Jersey cow on the world stage.

Edgar and Albert were then joined by a new partner, Charles Gruchy, who continued to keep things in the family when he brought along, you guessed it, his son, Charles Gruchy Junior.

We didn’t stop there, and in 1992, Ben Linnell – who was, drumroll please, Albert Messervy’s step-grandson – joined the fold.

Our practice has been looking after our island’s animals for more than a century, and our team and range of services have grown and developed over the years.

With over 100 years of excellent veterinary care under the New Era belt, you can trust us to deliver high levels of service across the board, whilst putting you at ease and making you feel at home.
