Ian Cox BVSc BSc GPCertSAM CertSAM MRCVS
After qualifying from Bristol Vet School in 1999, Ian moved to Jersey to start his veterinary career. After working at New Era as a locum for 3 months, he joined the team full-time, and has worked here ever since.
Ian strongly believes that New Era offers the best level of care in the Channel Islands, and aims to provide referral level care without pets having to leave the Island. He has therefore obtained post graduate qualifications from the European Society of Practicing Veterinary Surgeons and the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in small animal medicine, increasing the range of services we can offer locally. Ian is also responsible for the visits of the mobile MRI scanner and enjoys soft tissue surgery, and working with reptiles, birds and other exotics.
In his spare time, Ian enjoys keeping fit and all sorts of water sports. He is a very keen runner and a member of the local Hash Harriers. When weather permits (and sometimes when it doesn’t!), Ian can often be found exploring the island’s coastline in a kayak. Ian and his wife have a son (Jacob), a daughter (Lydia), 2 cats, and a very bouncy German Pointer, called Theo.
